DENISE A KITCHEL

Denise Kitchel brings more than a decade of agency, corporate, and non-profit communications experience to Planit, an integrated brand communications agency headquartered in downtown Baltimore. She helps build client communications strategies and is charged with steering the agency's growth.

Denise's areas of expertise include public relations strategy and implementation, communications plan development, media relations, community relations, coalition building, and cause marketing. Her vertical market experience includes the arts, education, technology, healthcare, insurance, tourism, grocery, and energy industries. Her work has earned numerous awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Prior to joining Planit, Denise served as a vice president at Warschawski Public Relations, where she oversaw public relations strategy and implementation for numerous clients with business-to-business and business-to-consumer needs.

Before moving to Baltimore, Denise was the director of PR and marketing for Atlanta-based Duffey Communications, the Southeast's largest independent public relations, marketing and public affairs agency. In that role she oversaw the agency's public relations, community relations, marketing, and new business development activities. While at Duffey, the client roster included Kinko's, Kroger Food Stores, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), American Express, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and various other well known entities.

Denise's repertoire also includes positions with the High Museum of Art in Atlanta - where she helped bring to fruition a large international art exhibition that was the cornerstone of the 1996 Olympic Games' Cultural Olympiad - and Sotheby's, Inc. and Paramount Publishing in New York.
Denise is a member of the American Marketing Association and a board member of the Cornell Club of Maryland. She also donates her time to several other non-profit institutions in Baltimore. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Cornell University.
