LANCE JOHNSON
Lance is currently an attorney in the Corporate and Securities
practice group at Piper Rudnick LLP. He is an active business
counselor with a professional background in corporate finance
and securities law. During his legal career, Lance has provided
legal advice to investment bankers and
management teams at firms such as Deutsche Bank Securities,
Perdue Farms Incorporated, First Horizon Pharmaceutical Corporation
and MacroGenics, Inc.
and business advice to a number of start-up and small businesses
in the D.C.
metropolitan area.
In 1999, Lance founded ServiceConnex, Inc., an information
technology and solutions company based in Washington, D.C.
Lance was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ServiceConnex
and thus actively participated in and
managed all aspects of operations including business and execution
plan development, capital raising, negotiation of strategic
partnership/alliance agreements, completing patent application
and development of proprietary technology platform. During
his time at ServiceConnex, Lance conducted
negotiations with large information technology departments
and companies such as Experian, MicroStrategy, CarFax, Jiffy
Lube International Information Solutions and J.D. Power &
Associates.
Prior to ServiceConnex, Lance was an associate at Brobeck,
Phleger and Harrison LLP and Piper Rudnick LLP. His legal
experience includes structuring and negotiating public securities
offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate formation and
governance, representing investment banks, private equity
funds, start-up, emerging and mature companies. Lance worked
with companies such as Deutsche Bank Securities, Lehman Brothers,
Robertson Stephens, LionBridge Technologies, OneMain and U.S.
Interactive.
Lance received a B.S. in Commerce, with a concentration in
Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University
of Virginia in 1994, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia
School of Law in 1997.
