LARRY FIORINO
Larry Fiorino founded G1440 in April 1998 with no outside
capital and no office space. He started the company with his
savings, a mobile telephone, a laptop and a Chevy Tahoe.
From this small beginning, today G1440, Inc. has over 60
employees and has served over 500 clients including The National
Aquarium in Baltimore, Deutche Banc Alex Brown, Crown Central
Petroleum, Johns Hopkins University, CBS Radio, Starbucks
Coffee, MileOne, Comcast and Warner Brothers.
G1440 offers technology development, marketing & design
and technology staffing services. When working with G1440's
client, Larry's primary focus is helping companies use information
technology as a competitive tool to generate revenue and cut
costs.
Larry began his career in accounting and moved into technology
during his 5-year career in the Management Consulting Group
of Price Waterhouse. A 15-year veteran of the information
technology industry, Larry spent 4 years as the National Vice
President of Systems and Technology for the Ryland Group where
he managed a staff of 100 to provide all the technology for
2300 employees of Ryland Homes, Ryland Mortgage and Cornerstone
Title. Larry graduated from Towson University in 1984 with
a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, has an MBA with concentration
in Management Information Systems from Loyola College and
is a CPA in Maryland.
Larry serves on numerous boards including the Board of the
Emerging Technology Centers, the Mayor's Technology Advisory
Board, Columbia Foundation Board, Towson University's College
of Business and Economics and the University of Maryland's
Library Advisory Board.
Larry was named in the Baltimore Business Journals "40
under 40" Listing - recognized by Baltimore Business
Journal as one of Greater Baltimore's Emerging Leaders and
was named a "Revolutionary" by the Greater Baltimore
Tech Council, a title reserved for individuals making strides
to put the Baltimore region on the map as a viable area for
technology companies. While at Ryland, Larry was named to
the Information Week 500 for leading them to being one of
the Top 500 companies in the US for their use of technology.
Larry appears every Tuesday morning and Saturday evening
on Fox news as a technology reporter and has a weekly column
in the Daily Record.
