NICK KOVACIC
Operating in a consulting capacity, Mr. Kovacic has worked
with executive level management in the areas of top executive
development, strategic marketing, business development and
high-level project ownership for such leading firms as: Teligent,
SAIC, True North Technologies, Hughes Network Systems/DirectPC,
Polycom, UUNET, PSINet, NetRail, Vicinity Corporation, Roku
Technologies, Ventaso and Com2001.com (Alexis!).
Mr. Kovacic developed an extensive background, in the Enterprise
Internetworking Industry while serving as the Senior Partner
in the Venture Capital Firm, Nygmatech Ventures. He has successfully
invested in, and sold several firms including WebCal.com which
was sold to Yahoo in 1998. Mr. Kovacic has also participated
as a seed round investor in a number of firms including; Roku
Technologies, which closed a follow-on round of $6.1M with
PSINet Ventures and Nextel, eGuard (Gator) which recently
closed a follow on $20 Million round with Menlo Ventures;
and Ventaso, which has raised follow-on funding of $30M from
Norwest and others. He recently assisted in the merger of
ZipZap into The Athletes Foot chain of retail stores. Mr.
Kovacic's portfolio companies have raised more than $500 million
dollars, from such leading firms as Morgan Stanley and Integral
Partners, while assisting clients to prepare for and successfully
complete their IPO's, including most recently The Vicinity
Corporation in 2000.
Mr. Kovacic has been highlighted in leading newspapers such
as The Washington Business Journal, The Potomac Tech Journal,
and The Washington Post. In addition, he has appeared on numerous
radio programs. Mr. Kovacic is an Advisor to a number of venture
capital firms including The Stargazer Group, New England Partners,
and Nygmatech Ventures.
